TO find the side of square base, we will use Pythagoras theorem
Hypotenuse becomes length of the square.
By Pythagoras theorem, we have
p2 + b2 = h2
![open parentheses 7 square root of 2 close parentheses squared plus open parentheses 7 square root of 2 close parentheses squared equals straight h squared
straight h equals 14 space cm
Now comma space volume space of space cylinder space equals space πr squared straight h equals 22 over 7 cross times open parentheses 7 square root of 2 close parentheses squared cross times 30 equals 9240 space cm cubed
Volume space of space cuboid space equals space straight l cross times straight b cross times straight h equals 14 cross times 14 cross times 30 equals 5880 space cm cubed
Volume space of space wood space wasted space equals space Volume space of space cylindrical space wood space minus space Volume space of space cuboid space equals space 3360 space cm cubed](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/39a10b37bb47abe79c24b4688c836ffa.png)
