CBSE Class 10 Answered
Four spherical mirrors of radius of curvature R1, R2, R3, and R4 (R1 > R3 > R2 > R4) are placed against the sunlight. Try to obtain the bright spot on a paper sheet for each mirror. Which mirror forms the brightest spot at a maximum distance from the pole of the mirror? Explain.

Expert Answer
bright spot on the paper will form at focal length distance from the mirror.
focal length=radius of curvature/2
so bright spot will be formed at the largest distance for a mirror which has maximum radius of curvature.
so R1 mirror will form bright spot at largest distance.
