Expert Answer:

Let a be the first term and d be the common difference of the AP.
Now, tp + tp + 2q =
a + (p - 1)d + a + (p + 2q - 1)d
= 2a + 2(p + q - 1)d
= 2[a + (p + q - 1)d]
= 2tp + q
Hence, proved.
