begin mathsize 16px style rightwards double arrow 2 straight x squared space plus space 7 over 2 straight x space plus to the power of space 3 over 4 space equals 0 end style
→ 8x²+ 14x + 3 = 0
→ 8x²+ 2x + 12x + 3 = 0
→ 2x(4x + 1) + 3(4x + 1) = 0
→ (4x + 1)(2x + 3) = 0
→ (4x + 1) = 0 or (2x + 3) = 0
→  x= -1/4 or x = -3/2
