using remainder theoram,f(x,y)= xn-yis divisible by x+y if

for x+y=0 i.e. x=-y,

f(x,y)= xn-yn=0

xn-(-x)n =0

Above is satified for all even values of n. So  n must be even for given condition to be satisfied.
