An electric motor is based on the principle of electro-motive force where due to a current carrying wire in a magnetic field has a force acting on it causing it to rotate the axle. In electric motor that field is produced using electromagnets.
In indution motor, the varying current is supplied to the electromagnets outside on the stationary coil and it causes the current to induce in the coil on armature. This current then produces torque on interacting with the magnetic field produced.
