Expert Answer
Four ways in which consumers are exploited in the markets are as listed below:
- When traders and shopkeepers indulge in unfair trade practices such as when a shopkeeper sells a commodity using a faulty weighing machine, which weighs less but shows weight as more.
- When adulterated goods are sold in the markets by traders and shopkeepers.
- When powerful and wealthy companies sell small products with consumers scattered over different places. Under such circumstances, large companies do not pay any attention to the complaints of the consumers.
- When false information is passed by the large, wealthy and powerful companies about their product in markets through media advertising. For example, many face cream make a false claim of lightening and beautifying the skin instantly.
