Now,
From O, set off unit distances OA, AB and BC to the right of O. Now, to represent 13/5, divide the third unit BC into 5 equal parts. The third point P will represent the rational number 13/5.
Again, from O, set off unit distances OA', A'B', B'C' to the left of 0.
Now,
Now, to represent -13/5, divide the third unit B'C' into 5 equal parts. The third point P' will represent the rational number -13/5.
