Expert Answer
- At medium temperatures, between 50 and 68 degrees Fahrenheit, or 10 and 20 degrees Celsius, the photosynthetic enzymes work at their optimum levels, so rate of photosynthesis is high.
- The major limiting factors in this process are light intensity, temperature, and carbon dioxide levels. For both light intensity and temperature, if the level is too low or too high, the rate of photosynthesis declines rapidly.
- The enzymes begin to degrade and stop functioning at low or high temperatures. Hence, photosynthesis is less likely to occur at -40 degree Celsius.
