Derive an expression for "g".
Asked by gaayush2007 | 29th Oct, 2020, 09:37: AM
As per Newton's law, Force = mass × acceleration = m×a .....................(1)
where m is mass and a is acceleration
Gravitational force acting on a mass m on earth's surface = ..........................(2)
where G is Gravitational force constant, M is mass of earth and R is radius of earth
By comparing (1) and (2),
a = (G×M)/R2
Let a = g,
g = GM/R2
