Define the focal length of lens

For a convex lens or converging lens, parallel light rays coming from one side of lens are getting
converged at other side in a point F as shown in figure.
The distance between optical centre O of lens to focal point F is called the focal length of convex lens.
Similarly, for concave lens or divering lens, parallel rays coming from one side of lens are getting diverged
on other side and appears on other side that they are coming from a point F .
