Chotu is twice as good a workman as Montu and together they finish a piece of work in 22 days. In how many days will Chotu alone finish the work?

Let the time taken by Chotu to do a work = x days Chotu's 1 day's work =

Then, time taken by Montu to do the same work = 2x days Montu's 1 day's work =

Chotu and Montu together can do the work in 22 days (Chotu + Montu)'s 1 day's work =

Thus, we have

Hence, Chotu alone can finish the work in 33 days.
