Dear Student,

In electrolysis, oxidation occurs at the anode while reduction occurs at the cathode.

The color of the solution would continue to fade if the anode were made of platinum because the copper ions would not be replaced by new copper ions as they generated at the anode and were reduced at the cathode.

 

The correct option: Q )  anode: platinum, cathode: copper
