magnification formula for concave mirror : m =  -v/u  .................(1)
where m is magnification, v is image to mirror distance and u is object to mirror distance.

real image and 4 times larger means , image is inverted, hence from eqn (1) by substituting m = -4 and u =12
we get v.

-4 = -v/12  or v = 48 cm
