A well with a brick parapet around it has a diameter 210 cm. If the length of the outer edge of the parapet is 880 cm, then find the width of the parapet

Here,
Let the radius and the diameter of the parapet is r and d.
 
2begin mathsize 16px style straight pi end styler   = 880
2r     = 280
 
d= 210 (given)
Width of the parapet = begin mathsize 16px style fraction numerator diameter space of space the space parapet space minus space diameter space of space the space well space space space over denominator 2 end fraction space equals space fraction numerator 280 space minus space 210 over denominator 2 end fraction equals space 35 end style

Therefore the width of the parapet isn 35cm.
