**A cubodial block of side 7cm is surmounted by a hemisphere. What is the largest diameter that the hemisphere can have? Also find the surface area of the solid.**

From the figure greatesr possible diameter for such hemeisphere is equal to cube's edge is 7 cm

Radius of hemispherical part = r = 7/2 = 3.5 cm

Total surface area of solid = Surface area of cubical part + Curved surface area of hemispherical part - area of base of hemispherical part

= 6 × 7

^{2}+ 2∏r^{2}- ∏r^{2}= 6 × 7

^{2}+ ∏r^{2}Solving it we get

= 332.5 cm
