a concave mirror has a radius of curvature of 20 cm the image of a object formed in mirrror is 2.50 times the size of object . how for is the mirror from the object

radius of curvature = 20 cm, focal length f = 10 cm
magnification = v/u = 2.5, or v = 2.5u ...............(1)
where v is image-to-mirror distance and u is object to mirror distance
we have mirror equation: (1/v) + (1/u) = 1/f
[ 1/(2.5u) ] + (1/u) = 1/10
(1/u) [ (2/5) + 1 ] = (1/10) or (1/u) = (5/7)(1/10) = (1/14)
hence object is placed at 14 cm from mirror
