Question must be:
A boat goes downstream and cover the distance between two ports in 4 hours while it covers the same distance upstream in 5 hours. find the speed of boat in still water if the speed of stream is 2km/h.
Solution:
Distance between two ports be 'x' km
Let speed of the boat be 'y' km/hr
Therefore, x = 4(y+2)
Also, x = 5(y - 2)
Therefore, 4(y+2) = 5(y - 2)
i.e. 4y + 8 = 5y - 10
i.e. y = 18
Hence, speed of the boat is 18 km/hr
