begin mathsize 14px style 2 space x squared plus x minus 45 space equals space 0 end style
 
product =  2 × (-45) = -90 = 10 ×-9
 
sum = 10x -9 x= x
 
Hence the given quadratic equation is
 
begin mathsize 14px style 2 space x squared plus 10 x space minus space 9 x minus 45 space equals space 0 end style
2 x space left parenthesis space x plus space 5 right parenthesis space minus 9 left parenthesis x plus 5 right parenthesis space equals space 0
(x+5)(2x-9) = 0
