(i) Dilute H2SO4 reacts with basic oxides to form sulphate and water.
CuO+H2SO4 → CuSO4+H2O
(ii) It reacts with carbonate to produce CO2.
Na2CO3+H2SO4 → Na2SO4+H2O+CO2 ↑
