Rational Numbers are in a form of p/q. Why do we insist that q not equal to 0?

Any number divide by zero will tend to infinity.

Thus, p over 0 rightwards arrow infinity

There is no such particular number like infinity.

Therefore, for a finite rational or any number denominator should not be equal to zero.
