⭕why SiO2 is acidic in nature? as silicon is a metal and oxide of metal is supposed to be basic...plz explain!

Answered by Expert
SiO2 does not have basic properties because it does not react with acids and does not ionise in water to form bases.
It is a weak base which forms acid due to reaction with weak acid.
