Why antigens are present on the surface of RBCs cells?

- Blood group antigen proteins serve a variety of functions within the cell membrane of red blood cells.
- They help in transporting other proteins and molecules into and out of the cell, maintain cell structure by attaching to other cells and molecules, and participate in chemical reactions.
