Expert Answer
There are no concrete historical evidences of the two earliest groups of people who used ‘India’ for the first time.
According to historians, the word ‘India’ is derived from the river ‘Indus’. Skylaz of Karyanda, who explored the Indus River for the Persian emperor probably took over the Persian name and passed it into Greek. The terms ‘Indos’ for the Indus River as well as "an Indian" are found in Herodotu’s Geography.
