Paleolithic age is refered to as the old stone age. The humans in the Paleolithic age were the first to develop stone implements. Earlier, they would use them in their natural conditions and dispose of them. Later, they would make crude unpolished stone tools. Large chunks of stone were made into hammers, scrapers and axe heads. These would be used for cutting trees, killing and skinning animals, chopping meat and digging up roots.
