Expert Answer
There are many effects that will take place.
1) The moment Sun stops attracting Earth, the Earth will no longer move in elliptical orbit, it will start moving in a straight line and will continue moving across the universe.
2) The heat from the Sun will slowly reduce as Earth will move away from it. Hence, it will become colder and colder and eventually freeze.
3) It might collide with other heavenly objects in its course.
