What is the use of split rings and slip rings

Splits ring are used in DC generator because in DC current the positive as well as negative terminal must remain at same same terminal irrespective of rotation of armature.
Because magnitude of DC current don't get chnage with time.
But in AC current direction of current gets change after a time period so to collect current with different terminal we must collect the current at different point that's why we use slip ring. In AC generator must nin be worry about direction of current
