What is the difference between exosmosis and endosmosis ?

The process by which water molecules move out of the cell is called exosmosis

The process by which water molecules enter a cell is called endosmosis

Example - Passage of water from root hair cells to cortical cells of root

Example - Entrance of water in the xylem vessel

Shrinkage of cell takes place

Swelling of cells takes place
