What are the two main mistake which are generally made while measuring length with the wooden measuring scale?

Following are the mistakes which are done while measuring the distances:
i) The scale is not held parallel to the side of an object whose length is to be measured.
ii) The observer's eye is not vertically above the scale being read.
iii) Not measuring the length from the zero mark of the scale.
