total amount of Rs. 1500 is to be distributed to 3 poor students A, B, C of a class. in how many ways the distribution can be made in multiplies of Rs. 100
i) if everyone of these must get at least Rs. 300?
ii). if A must get at least Rs. 500, B and C must get atleast Rs. 400 each?

(i)
Each one get atleast Rs. 300
So, the least amount is Rs. 900
Now, the rest 600 Rs. can be distributed in the following ways
600, 0, 0
500, 100, 0
400, 200, 0
400, 100, 100
300, 300, 0
300, 200, 100
200, 200, 200
Total 7 ways
Thus, the total amount Rs. 1500 can be distributed in 7 ways if each one get atleast Rs. 300
(ii)
Now, A get at least 500, B and C get at least Rs. 400 each
So, the least amount is 500+400+400=1300
The rest of the amount i.e. Rs. 200 can be distributed amongst A, B and C in the following ways
200, 0, 0
100, 100, 0
So, total 2 ways
Thus, the total amount Rs. 1500 can be distributed in 2 ways if A get at least Rs. 500, B and C get at least 400 each.
