NEET Class neet Answered
The equation of an SHM with amplitude A and angular frequency w in which all the distances are measured from one extreme position and time is taken to be zero at the other extreme position is – (1) x= A sin wt , (2) x= A(cos wt + sin wt),(3) x= A–A cos wt , (4) x= A+A cos wt

Expert Answer
Distance is measured from extreme position (i.e., at a distance equals to amplitude A from mean position ).
Also at t=0, particle executing SHM is at other extreme position.
Hence at t= 0, position of particle from reference point is 2A.
This condition is valid only for the equation : x = A+Acosωt
Hence answer :- (4) x = A+Acosωt
