Pollens are haploid as a result of meiosis. Pollen grain are male gametes in plants. And gametes are haploid in order to restore the correct number of chromosomes in the zygote after fusion .For that the mother cell undergo meiosis to produce four haploid cells. Each cell develops into a pollen.
