Maximum RMS current is obtained when the inductive impedence XL equals Capacitive impedence XC .
Hence net impedence Z = [ R2 - (XL - XC)2 ]1/2 = R , where R is resistance of coil
If RMS current is 6A , i.e., im = vm / R = 6 A , hence resistance of coil R = vm / im = 24 V / 6 A = 4 Ω
when this coil connected to battery of EMF 12 V and internal resistance 4 Ω , only DC current is passing through.
Hence current = 12 /(4+4) = 1.5 A
