Force on electron = |e| E ....................... (1)
where |e| is magnitude of charge and E is electric field intensity.
acceleration of electron = (|e| E ) / m
Considering speed v = 0 at t= 0, speed v(t) of electron at time t is given by ,
v(t) = acceleration × time = ( |e| E / m ) t
Momentum p = mass × speed = |e| × E × t .....................(1)
De-broglie wavelength, λ = h/p
Rate of change of de-Broglie wavelength , dλ/dt = - ( h/p2 ) (dp/dt) ......................(2)
Using eqn.(1), we get, dλ/dt = - [ h / ( |e| × E × t )2 ] ( |e| × E ) = - [ h / ( |e| × E × t2 ) ]
