(i) The energy possessed by an object due to its position is called potential energy. The S.I unit of

     potential energy is Joule

(ii) Given, mass of the body (m) = 50 gm

                             height (h) = 10 m and g = 10 ms-2  

 

\because Potential energy  = mgh 

                           = 50 kg × 10 ms-2 × 10 m

                           = 5000 kg ms-2 m

                           = 5000 Nm

                           = 5000 J
