Humulin is synthesized in E.coli using recombinant DNA technology.  The genes for the production of A and B chain of insulin are incoorperated into the bacterial plasmid and introduced in the bacteria.  my doubt is is  enzyme ligase  used to join the gene of interest  and plasmid and is the restriction enzyme also used to cut the gene of interest and plasmid dna . tell me.

Restriction enzymes are the ones which are used to obtain a gene of interest from the donor organism.
