Give chemical equation and observation for the following activities:
1.take lead nitrate solution in a test tube.add potassium iodide solution to this.
2.take a few zinc granules in a conical flask or a test tube.add dilute hydrochloric acid or sulphuric acid to this.

1. When we add lead nitrate solution in potassium iodide solution, potassium nitrate is formed along with lead iodide with golden yellow precipitate.
This chemical reaction is an example of a double displacement reaction, proceed as follows:
Pb(NO3)2 + 2KI → PbI2 + 2KNO3
2. When zinc granules are added to dilute hydrochloric acid, hydrogen gas is evolved and zinc chloride salt is formed.
the temperature increases which means the reaction is an exothermic reaction,
Zn + HCl → ZnCl2 + H2↑
