atmospheric pressure

Asked by 1st October 2013, 1:12 PM
Answered by Expert
The atmosphere can be considered as consisting of air layers. Thus, each layer experiences pressure due to the total column of air above it.
When altitude increases, the air column decreases and so does the thrust exerted by it. Thus, the pressure at higher altitude decreases.
