A table cover 4m*2m is spread on a table. If 25cm of the table cover is hanging all around the table. Find the area of the tabletop and cost of polishing the table top at ₹25 per square metre?

Expert Answer
25 cm = 0.25 m
Length of the table top = 4m - (2 × 0.25)m = 4m - 0.50m = 3. 5 m
Bredth of the table top = 2m - (2 × 0.25)m = 2m - 0.50m = 1. 5 m
Area of the table top = l × b = 3. 5 × 1. 5 = 5.25 m2
