By taking logarithm on both sides , we get

ln(x y ) = ( x - y)

ln(x)+ln(y) = x - y

if we differentiate above expression on bothe sides , we get

(1/x ) + (1/y) (dy/dx) = 1 - (dy/dx)

(dy/dx) [ (1/y)+1 ] = 1 - (1/x)

dy/dx = (y/x) [ (x-1)/(y+1) ]
