X²+2X-3≤0 solve following inequalities over the set of real number

Expert Answer
x2 + 2 x - 3 ≤ 0
By factorising LHS , we get
(x+3)(x-1) ≤ 0 ..........................(1)
Above inequality is valid for set A of real numbers , so that
A = { x | -3 ≤ x ≤ 1 }
If x > 1 , then LHS of eqn.(1) becomes positive and inequality does not valid .
If x < -3 , then LHS of eqn.(1) becomes positive and inequality does not valid .
