Why only carbon has been arranged in 3D structure not graphite and buckminsterfullerence ?

Carbon ,graphite and buckminsterfullerence have 3 D structure.As they are made up of large number of atoms which is spherical in shape and when you put in to the space, they will give you 3 D structure.
Note:Sometimes students get confused themselves by seeing the structre in books(which is most of the times given in 2D)and therefore reality (i.e. 3D) get diiferent from those books structures.
