NEET Class neet Answered
why mitosis is called reductional division but binary fission not called reductional division

Meiosis is called reductional division because number of chromosomes in daughter cells is reduced to half than that of parent cell.
Mitosis is called equational division because the chromosome number in each daughter cell is equal to that in the parent cell, i.e., diploid.
During binary fission as well as mitosis, chromosomes are copied before a cell divides and forms two new daughter cells.
