why is the difference between the durations of day and night hardly fat at Kanyakumari but not so in Kashmir?

Kanyakumari lies close to the equator while Kasmir is located in north of India in the temperate zone. At equator the sun rays are straight and the duration of day and night are equal. On other hand in temperate zone Sun rays are tilted and therefore, there is considerable difference between duration of day and night. Hence, a difference between the durations of day and night is hardly felt at Kanyakumari but not so in Kashmir.
