During the Gupta period, advancements were made in science, math and medicines. Aryabhatta and Varahmihira were great and learned mathematician and astronomer respectively.
The Gupta age constitutes and important phase in the history of Sanskrit literature. Kalidasa, Dandin and Harisena were some notable writers in this period. Because of the political unity of the states, advancements made in sciences, art and literature, the Gupta Period is known as ‘The Golden Age’ or ‘The Classical Age’.
