why did ramanujam look worried after reading the letter?

Ramanujam’s father-in-law was anxious that Kamakshi’s marriage should take place at the earliest. He showed in his letter that Ramanujam was indifferent towards Kamakshi’s marriage and was taking it lightly. Ramanujam did his best to find a suitable match for Kamakshi. But what really worried him was (i) the girl would be seventeen in a few days, and (ii) the last auspicious date of marriage was fast approaching.
