why are telescopes launched in space ? explain in brife about the hubble telescope launched in space

When visible radiation emitted by the heavenly bodies passes through the Earth’s atmosphere,
some light is absorbed by the atmosphere, thus decreasing the intensity of light.
To avoid this, telescopes are placed in the atmosphere.
 
Hubble Telescope: - 
  1. It is an optical telescope.
  2. It was launched into space in 1990 by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).
  3. Its mirror has a diameter of 94 inches.
  4. It orbits the Earth at an altitude of 589 km.
