Solids possesses a fixed volume and a definite shape, distinct boundaries and a definite mass.
They are rigid and almost incompressible. Hence they are called solid rigids. 
 
By applying force, we can break solids but it is difficult to change their shape.

in the question which takes the shape of the container in which it is filled ,I gave the answer liquid but it went wrong and the answer came gas and liquid . my question is that A deflated ballon does not have any shape so how can we say that gas takes the shape of the container? besides it changes the shape of the container.
