Which characteristic property of light is responsible for the blue colour of the sky ?

The appearance of sky is blue due to scattering of white light. As you know white light is mixed form seven different color. Out of these seven color blue light get scatter most when light enters atmosphere of earth. Due to this sky appear as blue. Actual color of sky is black.
