- The Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Kapurthala(Punjab) manufactures the LHB coaches which are used on Rajdhanis, Shatabdis,Duronto and some other express trains.
- 'Linke Hofmann Busch' (LHB) coaches are the passenger coaches of Indian Railways that have been developed by the Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany (renamed Alstom LHB GmbH in 1998 after the takeover by Alstom) and mostly produced by the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, India.
- The modern LHB coaches are designed to be much safer while encountering a coliision.
- The Integrated Coach Factory (ICF) Perambur(TN) manufactures the standard coaches that we see on the express trains. The ICF has also started making LHB coaches.
- There is also a Modern Rail Coach Factory recently functional at Rai Bareilly(UP).
